Alabama lands commitment from CB Chris Jones

M inor High School cornerback Chris Jones committed to play football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He announced the commitment on Fox 6 television.

According to recruiting expert Andrew Bone, “Jones had more than 20 scholarship offers from schools including Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame and Tennessee.”

“I love the chance I will have to play for Nick Saban, ” Jones said. “I love to have a shot getting a ring. I know I’d have a good chance doing that at Alabama.”

According to Rivals.com, “This is a big pick-up for Alabama because of the versatility of Jones,” said BamaOnline.com Recruiting Editor Tim Watts. “Jones can line up and be a Robbie Green-type at safety with superior coverage skills. Physically he is very similar to Green as well. He also has great ball skills and can return kicks and punts and is a threat to return a pick back for a score at any time.”

Love me a jealous barner – even when its not really a barner making the comment, we all know that’s what they’re thinking!

Nice grammar, however, the article is refering to a cornerback, not a quarterback. What’s going to happen to that school when Cam goes down with an injury?

What? You mean he passed up on the super nice Chizik for that ole meanie Saban?
Doesn’t he know that Saban cusses? I mean cusses alot. Well, he isn’t really a 4 star anyways because Scout is getting paid by Saban to add stars to his recruits. It’s all a big lie!

Does that about cover it Julia? BP? Don’t ya’ll agree with me?

  7. BPI October 1, 2010 at 11:15 am #

    No…..We just didn’t want him.

  8. BamaBrando October 1, 2010 at 11:31 am #

Oh. No room at Auburn with all that talent just lying around everywhere. Sorry I forgot.

  9. BPI October 1, 2010 at 12:20 pm #

Nah, I was just using the old Bama excuse I heard after every player we signed last year….

Jonathon Rose, and soon to sign Enrique Florence will be a decent start though.

You have to admit that Auburn aint quite there with Sabans recruiting. He has to be one of the best recruiters anywhere right now, especially since Pete Carroll is not around anymore.

I never said Saban wasnt a great recruiter. He is . I am just proud we have a coach that sees the importance of recruting . Tommy T. truly didnt give a rip. He wa a solid coach, and that covered a multitude of recruting woes for a while.

If we land a top ten class this year, and I firly believe we will, watch out.

    Two words Bammers.
    Cam Newton.
    Scared…. Damn skippy yall are.
We can miss the next two recruiting classes and still win the heisman trophy and the National Cahmpionship. The iron Bowl is just a nice litte consolation prize.
And 411 lazy Bammer trailer trash. # minutes before Jones commited, auburn pulled there offer.
So there you go. Once again Bammer is taking Auburn’s rejects.

That fan for the other school is delusional, however, I hope Cam is still healthy for the Bama game so there can be no excuses. RTR!!!

Florida is having a Tebow hangover and theres no telling how ling it will last. Auburn will also have a Newton hangover, but they are not as good as Florida and it will be worse. I wouldnt send my kid there to suffer through it.
