The Alabama Crimson Tide must now face another top ten football team as the Florida Gators come to Tuscaloosa. One story that bears watching is the impact of the game on the Alabama secondary. Will it help or hurt the team. According to Robert Lester it will help.

“Playing against a great quarterback like Mallett should build confidence that we can play against any type of quarterback,” said Lester, who also had a key interception in the end zone in the first half. “That should raise everybody’s confidence.”

And what does Mark Ingram think about the win?
“The main thing was they weren’t doing anything that had us down. We were shooting ourselves in the foot,” said Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, who had the go-ahead touchdown in the final 4 minutes. We had blown coverages numerously on defense, missed tackles, an interception in the red zone, an interception before the half. We just had to go out and execute and not shoot ourselves in the foot.”

“In a tough situation where everything wasn’t going right for us, just for us to bounce back and answer the bell and push through the adversity was huge for this team,” Ingram said. “It’s going to be a great building block for us.”

“It shows heart and determination,” Ingram said, “and the camaraderie we have as a team is going to be so much better that we persevered through something like that.” (read much more about Alabama’s football victory in the story below.)

  1. i can tell you this, i’d rather have florida at home and usc on the road right now than vise-versa.

  2. I just wish we could have played Florida during the first two weeks of the season. Somehow I just knew they would have their shite together by the time 11/2 rolled around. Oh well, if we can’t beat em at their best at BDS then we aren’t gonna win a national championship anway. Soooo – Bring it Gayturds!!! RTR!
