The SEC had two players make Ralph D. Russo’s list of emerging stars. One is from Alabama, and one is from South Carolina.

From the AP: Marcus Lattimore, rb, South Carolina. Maybe even more than a quarterback, South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier has been searching for a top-notch tailback since he arrived in Columbia. In freshman Lattimore, who ran for 182 yards and two touchdowns in a victory against Georgia, the Gamecocks finally have a go-to back.

Robert Lester, s, Alabama. The Crimson Tide had to replace nine starters off last year’s stellar defense and in two games Lester has been as good as any of the new guys. The sophomore has two interceptions, a fumble recovery and the team’s only sack. (see all six emerging stars below)

  1. Richardson is the real deal. Lattimore ??? I will have to see that kind of performance on down through the schedule. The dude had almost 40 carries, which is respectable in itself. But, it is impossible to evaluate the future success from 2 games. I say the same thing about Cam Newton as well. Time will tell.

  2. Damn BP, you got a fever or something? You had a chance to take a shot at BB and you let it slide. I hope to hell Lattimore is just a flash in the pan. My gut feeling is that he’s gonna make USCe dangerous. Hell, Bama has at least 44 players who are the real deal. RTR!

  3. I really would rather avoid the stalker. He is starting to creep me out EG. All of you other posters are fun to rib, and I enjoy the back and forth bantor. But this guy is flat out obsessed with trying to “put me in my place”. Heck man, even you are fun to kid around with. But that guy is freaky.

  4. I think Dyer will be a really good running back for Auburn this year. But he won’t have to carry the bulk of the load like Spurrier is using Lattimore. But I don’t think either of them stack up to the Ingram/Richardson combo.

  5. Crimsonite: Nah, BP don’t want anymore. Glad to see that she is still shook up. I mean, I really hate to see a woman cry like that, but she brings it on herself.
