The weather (specifically the rain chance) is the latest chatter when talking about the major game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

According to the National Weather Service, “Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

“Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.”

For those who like more detail involving the weather, James Spann of ABC 33/40 provides this weather briefing video from Friday afternoon:

In the video, Spann advises taking rain gear to the Saturday afternoon/evening games in the state.

According to the ABC 33/40 weather blog forecast, “Tomorrow night Penn State visits Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium. There is a pretty decent chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm during the game, and the temperature will fall from near 83 at kickoff to 75 by the final whistle. The chance of rain during the game is about one in two, if you like the numbers game (most football fans do).”

  1. That’s what concerns me the most. Without a passing game we’re sitting ducks for a defense to stack 8 or 9 in the box like Auburn and Tennessee did. We all know how those games almost turned out. And I’m not sure we have anybody yet who can pulverize any defense thrown at us like Andre and company could. One consolation is that if they can’t throw because of the weather; against our rushing defense they’re already f–ked!
    RTR!

  2. Well if it does go down as a running game my money will be on the Tide.These line hogs Will open holes for Trent and Lacy no doubt about it.Do not think State can shut down offense like we run.Short screen passes ;wildcat;endaround;just to name a few.Hell let it rain that way we can show the nation we can win in bad weather.Any way a championship team is suppose to be able to play in any can of weather.We will get thru this game .Every body just relax.BAMA 36 JOPA 17

  3. 17 O JOPA my ass.Lions can not hang with my dam strong football team.3,,54 till half.Another NATIONAL CB INTHE MAKING..ROLL TIDEE

  4. Well guys i told you so.Big JW knows his BAMA football.I will go ahead and tell you now Duke is a wrap.No way in hell Duke will hang with Bama.But i know some of you will start freaking about first road game.Our pass defense really sucks if truth told.Think coach might just work on that this week.But o boy Trent what a beast.Offense line was outstanding again.D line held its own.It just feels so good having a number one team again.Keep up the great work men and ROLL TIDE BABAY;;;;;;;;;;

  5. Yeah, but that pass defense is sketchy at best for Bama. We are not that good right now. PSU was a much inferior opponent and they beat Kirkpatrick all night long. I’m glad Dareus is coming back. They need more
    pass rush.

    Not looking forward to playing Mallett. Dre Kirk isn’t the stud he thinks he is. Not yet, anyways.
