It was a good start to the season as Alabama rolled to win to launch the 2010 campaign.

MORE: Julio Jones made the most dramatic play with a diving, one-handed grab for a 29-yard touchdown from backup quarterback A.J. McCarron early in the second quarter. He finished with six catches for 93 yards and gained 13 yards on an end around to set up the Tide’s first touchdown.

Jones said it was the best catch of his career.

“I’ve made some great catches in practice, but not in a game,” he said.

Guard Barrett Jones was even more impressed.

“Honestly, I went crazy,” he said. “That was one of the greatest plays I’ve ever seen. I ran down the field and hit him in the chest. Wow, that was unbelievable. ” (read the entire AP game story below)

  3. solid win julio finally did something decent! we will see how good he is against truly talented db`s! the 3 point given up to this horrible team is nothing short of a disappointment. im sure saban will tie off into thier asses for that. offense is on target though.RTR!

  4. Will reserve judgement until 11pm next Saturday. While the passing game sparkled from the start, that ‘terrible’ team held us to less than 50 yards rushing for more than a quarter. That concerns me. But a least the defense didn’t give up 300+ yards and 23 points to an FCS team! Bwaa Haww Haww! RTR!

  5. Well, Bama played a lot of new players, glad to see the backups get quality playing time. Probably won’t have another chance during this next stretch of games. So it is really hard to see what we have until next week. But I am impressed so far. That is the way you are supposed to be a lower division team. I am glad the days of playing to the competition are over.
