Many thanks for the reminder. Once when awaiting DirecTV to begin its broadcast of the PPV, I tried to view the game on ESPN360 and it was blacked out in the state.
yeah you may wanna say that people in bama wont be able to get it, cuz thats definitely the case. or else you’ll have a lot of disappointed people

One caveat people may want to consider trying. I’m in Ttown right now and pulled up ESPN3 via tethering on my phone (I’m on Sprint, but AT&T and VZW are also ESPN3 capable.)
I saw the link that said ‘May be subject to blackout’ and clicked that. A map popped up showing it as blacked out in Alabama and California. But it still said ‘You are not subject to a blackout for this event.’ That may be because it’s harder for ESPN’s system to determine where you are if you’re on a mobile network. I know when we pull up mobile site analytic reports I’m not able to see geo-location on most of those either so it seems to be a fairly common limitation. Anyway, FYI in case you can tether or have a mifi plan (with unlimited data.)
Will this work in Europe?? If not, do you have any ideas how to watch games in Spain?

For the record, I tried to pull off the ESPN3 streaming today in T-town today as I was unable to secure tickets. It actually/technically worked as ESPN apparently no way of knowing your location if you’re on Sprint (my IP address apparently indicated I may have been in Kansas as far as one site was concerned.) But my download speeds were just too slow to sustain a watchable video stream. Sprint only just added 3G/EVDO coverage in Tuscaloosa last year and it still sucks mightily compared to larger metro areas like Birmingham. Still, FYI in case someone’s able to use this loophole for PPV content (for Bama or other teams) later.
