More on the conference expansion situation from the perspective of the ACC comes from this Boston Globe story: “He said that while there was no definitive plan in place, the ACC was ready to react if the expansion had been greater. Speculation about the Big Ten adding two, or perhaps even four schools, continues to swirl. Swofford is well aware that two of his teams – Maryland and Georgia Tech – still might be targeted by the Big Ten. He also is aware that a Big Ten raid of the Big East, perhaps picking up Rutgers, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh, would also change the demographics. ‘It’s a fluid situation, one that we are watching closely,’ said Swofford.” (read the entire story embedded below.)
