Via Billy Liucci’s twitter: “Latest in A&M’s SEC/Pac-10 decision: SEC commissioner Mike Slive in College Station today…more to come.”

If the report is accurate, this is a major development. Slive’s visit would tend to indicate intense discussions with a high chance of consummating a deal.

Will the Texas Longhorns be able to intimidate A&M? Or will the Aggies chart their own course?

Speculation will also turn to the next SEC expansion target.

  1. Texas could care less if A&M follow’s Texas to the Pac 10. To be honest we’d be pumped if they ‘charted their own course’. Good luck.

By the way, in negotiations today a representative high up in the Texas family stated that Texas is not interested in coming to the SEC and competing with Alabama and Florida. Can you say CHICKEN?   5. Dumbass yea, The Gus thing was an opinion based on what I’ve been told about the guy. Malzahn is an arrogant guy that thinks he should have a head coaching job. Big Difference between an opinion and fact.

    Second, I’m not reporting Slive is there, someone VERY close to Texas A&M is reporting it.

    So, and I say this with all kindness, Go to hell.

    Mr. Slive is indeed in College Station today.

    Love it, hate it, or ignore, but the SEC Commissioner is in Texas right now.

  9. the ‘Horns who say good riddance to the Aggies are in defensive mode. They want A&M in their league and definitely do not want them in the SEC. That is a huge threat. A&M overtook (owned) them in mid 1980s-1990s. They don’t ever want to second to A&M in football. The thought cuts to their very core and unleashes all kinds of childish statements.

  10. If tu knew what was best for them they would stay in the Big 12…er 10. I think that is probably going to happen because of 1.) A&M’s unwillingness to let the horns dictate their future; 2.) Texas’s desire to continue the rivalry, and, 3. The new TV contract that Bebee is coming up with. Don’t be fooled, Texas A&M is driving this process…..not tu.
