From ESPN: “The coach said it’s possible the Pac-16 would push for two automatic bids to the BCS, one for each division champion. That potential bonanza could open the possibility of the two division champs from one league playing for the national title, and it would eliminate the need for a conference championship game.”

“The Pac-10 doesn’t believe in a championship game,” the coach said. “And coaches in the Big 12 don’t like it anyway.”

The above ESPN report shows the foolishness of some in college athletics. The SEC should veto any such BCS accommodation for the Pac-10/Pac-16. If the Pac-10/16 insists then the SEC should withdraw from the BCS. The SEC Championship game is the real national championship game anyway. The Pac-10 and Big Ten are simply irrelevant.

  1. That’s fine but only if and only after the Big 10 and SEC get 16 teams so they can do it too. Georgia and Tennessee could move to the western division and Miami, Fla. State, N. Carolina and Va. Tech could move into the eastern division. And no more Bama and Florida knocking each other out of the BCSCG. To me it’s not a problem if it’s applied universally. But the Big 3 conferences would all need to expand to 16 teams and all agree on the format. Otherwise fuck em!
