I’m really sick of Senator Orrin Hatch. The guy claims to be for limited government, but he seems to advocate a massive government interference into a profitable segment of the economy. That sounds hypocritical to me. You can read the latest round between Congress and the BCS in the AP story below: Powered by Mochila
Quote of the day about Alabama & Nick Saban
“Oh yeah, Alabama is definitely one of my favorite schools out of all of the teams that have offered. I mean, it’s Alabama, they are at the top of the college football world right now. It was awesome talking to coach Saban. He was straightforward and honest, you can see why he is the best [...]
Random thoughts for Tuesday
The White House visit Am I the only one concerned about the visit? Obviously while Nick Saban was off wasting time with the president, Auburn’s coaching staff was hard at work. Alabama and Nick Saban have been passed. Wait, I’m not writing a column for the Birmingham newspaper. Never mind. The visit was a nice [...]

The Nick Saban hagiography begins
Why did this annoy me? From the Bleacher Report: Nick Saban Can Trace His Coaching Roots Through Bear Bryant Back To Knute Rockne. My immediate response was to write this. I hope it can become a foundation of the Saban hagiography. And these were the coaches of Alabama: Wallace Wade of Rose Bowl fame, Frank [...]

Capstone Saturdays: Bama Basketball
This Saturday as the Tide hosts the Tiggers, the men’s basketball season mercifully comes to an end in Tuscaloosa. Dynastic lessons for coaches-in-waiting
When Paul W. Bryant left his kingdom to the strongest, it set into motion a period of chaos in the Alabama football program. Factions formed, and chaos followed. While the empire wasn’t divided like Alexander’s, the divisions and weak leadership destabilized Alabama Crimson Tide football. Would a succession plan have prevented the trouble? Maybe. But [...]
