Alabama’s Tony Mitchell was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins at South Carolina and over Auburn. Mitchell recorded his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds at South Carolina. Eleven of his 13 points against USC were scored in the second half. Mitchell lead the Crimson Tide with 16 points in a win over intrastate rival Auburn.
