Brandon Ivory told the Alabama Crimson Tide football staff he would be rolling with the Tide Sunday, and on Thursday morning he made the announcement official.

“I told Coach (Nick) Saban Sunday that we had to keep the news private. Bama was the place best for me, but I didn’t want to do anything public until I talked to the coaches from Memphis first,” said the 6-foot-3, 330-pound defensive tackle. “I love Memphis and the staff and I will always root for my hometown team even when I am at Alabama.

“My trip to Alabama was awesome. I will fit in very well playing for Alabama. Everything was perfect. I love the campus, players, and staff. I feel good about calling Tuscaloosa my home for the next 4 years. I told Coach Saban Sunday that I was ready to play for him, and he was thrilled!”

“My Mother feels that I will develop as a man under the guidance of coach Saban. I know that I’ll fit in Alabama’s 3-4 defense. I am pretty much custom made for nose tackle, the position Cody played. I’m going to work hard so that I’m ready to make an early contribution to helping the team in any way. I’m ready to get there already.”

Ivory’s senior season stats: 60 tackles and 7 sacks.

Ivory is a very big recruit with a lot of potential. Will fit Nose Tackle Spot perfectly! He is a great run stopper.

Dubose coaches the defensive line at Memphis. How ironic is it that we’re about to take a defensive line recruit away from him now that he’s there?

Sounds like Mt. Cody’s replacement — RTR!!!! Oh yeah ITK — I forgot that DuBose stepped away from high school football and went to bluestown.

Err Damage INC. Dubose was at Millsaps College as head coach and did an amazing turn around. BTW he didn’t do bad coaching in HS either, in order to obtain the job at Memphis. I’m proud of any of Bear’s Bous landing coaching jobs in high school or college. Same goes with Saban coaches or players. Bama is a good breeding ground. But the steal shows Saban’s ability to recognize talent. I’m certain it was an easy steal considering the upward move the Ivory kid chose in leaving his hometown college for BAMA.
But the “next Cody” is a big wait and see. I prefer a better more versatile and faster version of nose guard, but there will never be another Mt. Cody at BAMA or anywhere. He is a CRIMSON LEGEND!

Crimsonite doesn’t exist. You perhaps need a shrink too, but on the other hand you may be too delusional. Even institutionalization can’t help incestual inbreeding habits. Sorry your parents were siblings. Roll Tide. Eat on Envy. # 13 national Champs to what 1 in ’57. Eat you heart out! ROLL TIDE!
