Profile: Chad Lindsay, Woodlands High School, Offensive Line, 6’3″ 290 lbs.

Chad Lindsay is as 3-star Offensive Lineman (rated a 3 star by most of the paid sites), but Chad figures to be a great addition to the 2010 Alabama Crimson Tide signing class. Chad has completed high school, and is on the University of Alabama campus as one of several early spring additions, according to his high school head coach Mark Schmid. Chad fits the criteria of what Alabama football Coach Nick Saban is looking for in a student athlete.

“Chad is a great kid, and is willing to let the coaches teach him whatever he needs to improve on,” Schmid said. “(He is) a very humble kid. He will do whatever it takes, and is a very hard worker. Alabama is getting a great player and person. He was a three-year starter for us, and is a natural leader. Not so much a vocal guy, but leads by example.”

According to Coach Schmid, “Chad was 318 lbs. as a junior, but decided he wanted to become quicker, faster, and leaner by his senior year. By Chad’s senior season he showed up 290lbs, with a lot more athleticism, speed, and an overall better player.” According to Schmid, Chad is focused, and once he sets his mind to something, that’s it.

Strengths: One of the fastest and top pulling guards /centers in the nation. Quick off the ball. Quick feet and very fast down on screens. He Enjoys playing offensive line , plays to the whistle, and finishes blows. Very aggressive!

In college, Chad will play on the interior line.

Bench: 365 lbs. squat: 569 lbs. and a runs 5.2” 40 yd. Has determination, if he doesn’t start early, will push players to become better. Even though Bama has a great offensive line coming back, Chad has a great shot at playing early, with his work ethic and determination. Schmid said, “Chad is very smart and will make good decisions.”

Played in the Under Armour Game on Jan.2 and was The Woodlands H.S. first All-American.

T.J.’s take : With the depth at offensive line it is hard to tell if he will play early. On film, Chad is very impressive. Top notch pulling blocker. Chad has the potential to start by his red-shirt sophomore or junior season, barring injury. At Alabama, expect Chad to play guard or center.
