W hat is a better representation of the trashiness of New Orleans than the dirty play of the New Orleans Saints? Seriously, the Saints game plan from the smug Sean Payton was to injure Favre—obviously, the sucky Saints defense wasn’t going to stop Favre legitimately. (I wonder how well the New Orleans Saints will do against outstanding quarterback Peyton Manning? My guess is not so good since there are fewer chances to hit Colts quarterback Manning than Vikings quarterback Favre.)
The proof of just how dirty the Saints played was the personal foul penalties and just plain cheap shots on legendary quarterback Brett Favre. There is no place in the NFL for this type of behavior. It is a shame that the Super Bowl will see a team so unworthy of being there.
To call New Orleans Sodom in the South would be to insult Sodom. The city embraces the Saints because the Saints are a true reflection of everything wrong with New Orleans. I have been a diehard Saints fan for a long time. My family & I spent a week making a huge banner to hang up outside for the Saints NFC Championship game. It’s now down. The vikings may hit other QB too, but not the way they were hitting Favre last night. I started losing respect when they did it to Warner. Last night, I was completely ashamed of the Saints team. It was 100% obvious they were intentionally trying to injury Favre, which they succeeded in doing. I lost all respect for them and you guys on here defending them are making yourselves look like fools. The Vikings, as well as many other teams don’t purposely try to hurt a QB. Not the way the Saints do. As far as I’m concerned, Favre outplays many of the young QB out there. He isn’t too old to play. People who say that he is too old just simply don’t want to admit that a 40-year-old QB is better than most out there. At least I can look at it objectively and give an objective, honest opinion. You guys are too busy defending a “dirty team” instead of admitting that they are in fact a dirty team. Sorry. No one could have been anymore of a Saints fan than me. Not anymore. Favre stood in the pocket and took hits at the split second after he threw the pass, over and over again. I suppose the D-linemen were supposed to stop their motion as they were 8 inches away, at full speed? They were going for the sack, every single time. If you can’t get the sack, you settle for the rattle.
Here’s a thought – perhaps Favre should’ve coiled up and taken a sack every now and then rather than make erratic plays, to preserve himself. People make fun of Manning “shrinking” to the ground on pass rushes, but he keeps his head together at the end, doesn’t he? There was one hit at the knees which was dubious – and part&parcel of most football games. Sorry – the rest was football. I really don’t know what you guys are talking about.

I totally agree that the Saints (Aints still in my view) played dirty against the Vikings. Come on…at least 15 “hits†on the quarterback, none of them sacks—and NONE that I saw were called as late hits.????
What is even worse is that, according to what I saw, there were 2 really bad hits on Favre by McCray –one in the first quarter –late/roughing hit never called (there was a lot of confusion but according to announcers, McCray got called for touching the Vikes player that caught the ball after he was out of bounds…NOT for the late hit on Favre)—
The major one I heard called was roughing the passer ONE time for actually lifting Favre off his feet and driving him to the ground by a different Saints player.
THEN, McCray appeared to dive at Favre’s legs in the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter while another Saints player hit him more from the front and rolled over top of him—Favre was hurt bad and taken to the sidelines to have his legs evaluated, ankle taped etc.. What a lowdown dirty play!!! THAT was ALSO NEVER CALLED although there is supposed to be a “Brady rule” that you cannot hit a quarterback below the knees. I thought he was trying to kill or maim Favre….
It certainly looked to me that the game plan of the Saints was to hurt Favre bad. What LOSERS—they go on to the Superbowl but DO NOT deserve to be there…as far as the pick Favre throw at the end…I could not believe he was even still playing after all the dirty plays and numerous no ref calls….
What up refs??? I have watched football for years and I have NEVER seen such dirty hits and certainly not the lack of calls on them. [McCray was the one who also hit Kurt Warner way too hard when the Cards played the Saints too--dirty plays in my book].

In my opinion, McCray should have been ejected from the game, fined and precluded from playing the rest of the season. I guess the Saints can’t get near a Superbowl ring unless they play dirty and the refs look the other way….Shame on the NFL for allowing this!!!!
