Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain is looking around for a head coaching job. He has interviewed for the San Jose State position. Also in the coaching news, former Alabama coaching disaster Mike Dubose has landed an assistant coaching position on the Memphis staff.

  1. As if the City of Memphis doesn’t have enough of an innocuous reputation in college football already! Now our ‘Bain’ revolves to the scene of his most infamous and inglorious constipated script! And at the same moment as slUT delivers our most wonderful Xmas present! Thank you God! Good luck to Elvisville, you’re gonna need it! RTR!

  2. Here’s my take on coach Mac, for whatever it’s worth. The article doesn’t specify if SJS contacted him or he contacted them. That’s some pretty important details. If they had enough interest to contact him and he had enough interest to interview, then I would color him gone! Head coach? Wow! Good luck Coach Mac! RTR!

  3. I understand that we will lose coaches due to the success. You would figure he would want to stick around for one more because even the seniors we are losing — we got another shot at it next year. Resume’ building right? San Jose ST. — fuck that!!! He needs to go to a program where he’ll get noticed!!! RTR!!!

  4. SJS is very noticable. It’s one of the 7 sports powers in California. And there, he would get a shot at kickin’ Boise States’ ass! WAC champ aint so bad now-a-days! That being said, I hope he stays. RTR!

  5. That’s a long shot to build a WAC program up to contend with Boise St. — it could be done but he would have to helm the program for a minimum of 4 years — if Coach Mac wants to leave — the door is always still open IMO.

  6. (cont.) Streaker —

CNS is very demanding on his Coaches/Assistants. If you are implying this is “encouraging” then that criteria doesn’t fit under the regime.

He is paid well and his family likes it here. I don’t think he would take a mid-major — at Alabama, he has the opportunity to coach at a BCS school in due time… (see Will Muschamp, Jimbo Fisher) — all he needs is 1 more successful season — 2 maximum to raise interest at big time programs.
