The Alabama Crimson Tide placed Trent Richardson, Barrett Jones and Nico Johnson on the 10th annual SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team. The official release is below.

2009 SEC FOOTBALL ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM ANNOUNCED (via SEC Media Relations)
BIRMINGHAM — Eleven of the Southeastern Conference football squads are represented on the 10th annual SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team, it was announced Thursday.

Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt led the way with four selections each. SEC Champion Alabama had three selections on the team.

Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones, South Carolina receiver Alshon Jeffery, Ole Miss punter Tyler Campbell and Vanderbilt placekicker Ryan Fowler were the only players to be a unanimous selections to the team. Vanderbilt’s Warren Norman made the squad as both a running back and return specialist. He was named SEC Freshman of the Year and second team All-SEC earlier this week.

  1. Yeah. Remember, the ’05 USC team had 2 Heisman winners playing at the same time. Reggie Bush and Matt Linhert. Also remember that Texas whipped their ass anyway! Beware! RTR!
