According to the South Bend Tribune: “Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville was a name that surfaced in discussions among those assisting athletic director Jack Swarbrick in his search, as was East Carolina coach Skip Holtz, the latter a Notre Dame grad and son of former ND coach Lou Holtz. Both names came off more peripheral than central to the search, especially Holtz’s. Tuberville last coached in 2008, but an Auburn insider said Tuesday that Tuberville would like to coach again and there are indications that there could be mutual interest if the winds shift away from Kelly.”

  1. I would be shocked if Tubb’s was EVEN MENTIONED for this job let alone have a shot at it. The coaching carousel will continue even after the bowl games.

  2. (cont.) — I don’t see any programs shopping for Tubby right now. He’s going to have to swallow his pride just like Fulmer and take a mid-major or go back to being a D-Coor at a BCS conference school.

The stains left behind were too tough to clean up on the plains.

Behind the doors — most coaches know that Notre Dame is the “graveyard of coaching”. Until they lower their academic standards and JOIN a conference — this program will continue to be the laughing stock of the “old powerhouses”.

  3. Kind of like Alabama was until last year ? Notre Dame is just dumb enough to hire Tubbs. Wouldnt suprise me a bit.

  4. Yeah kind of like the Barn always has been! Hope you enjoyed the 6 year hickup. It’ll be your last! LMAO!

  5. Glad you got hope BP. People without hope have a tendency to commit suicide! Bwwaaa Haaww Haaww!
