The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will face the No. 2 Texas Longhorns in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The game will be televised by ABC Sports and will kick off at 7 p.m. (CST).

Alabama (13-0, 8-0 SEC) earned its first BCS National Championship Game appearance with a 32-13 win over the Florida Gators in the 2009 SEC Championship Game on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga. Texas (13-0, 8-0 Big 12) advanced to the game following a 13-12 last-second win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game in Arlington, Texas.

“We’re truly honored,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “We think the Tournament of Roses is the Granddaddy of them all and my years in the Big Ten we did have several opportunities to play in the Rose Bowl. It’s first class all the way. We’re excited as a University and as a team to have the opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl and play such a quality opponent (Texas) with tremendous tradition and great accolades in terms of accomplishments over this year being 13-0.

“Coach (Mack) Brown has done a fantastic job at the University of Texas in his time there and their team this year has done a fantastic job to go undefeated and we have a tremendous amount of respect for their accomplishments and at the same time we are very excited about our opportunity as a team to be able to come and represent the SEC in the national championship game.”

The Crimson Tide is making its third BCS Bowl appearance and second straight under Coach Saban. The Crimson Tide also played in the 2009 Sugar Bowl and appeared in the 2000 Orange Bowl.

Alabama will be playing at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for the eighth time in school history, including its seventh post-season bowl game. The Crimson Tide has played in the Rose Bowl in 1926, 1927, 1931, 1935, 1938 and 1946. Alabama was the first southern team to play in the Rose Bowl when the Crimson Tide beat Washington 20-19 on January 1, 1926. Alabama is 4-1-1 all-time in Rose Bowls, with wins over Washington (1926), Washington State (1931), Stanford (1935) and Southern California (1946). Alabama has also played one regular season game at the Rose Bowl, when the third-ranked Crimson Tide opened the 2000 season with a 35-24 loss to the UCLA Bruins on September 3, 2000.

Alabama has played in more bowl games (57) and earned more bowl wins (31) – tied with Southern California for the most in college football history. The Crimson Tide has posted a 31-22-3 all-time bowl record and has made 35 of its 57 appearances in the Sugar (13), Orange (8), Cotton (7) and Rose (7) bowls.

    Insert the Bammer rammer-jammer hammer into Nicky Satan’s ass and pound the dirty, cheating, classless Crimson TURD into the California Turf.

    To the Bammer Moron Nation, you lack of class showed true with the rammer-jammer cheer after the game. As always, you are a low-class bunch of idiots!

    You’re a fucking moron IVOL! You need to be worried about Virginia Tech punkin’ your ass in the Peach Bowl.

    I hope you get your rocks off posting here while you’re at your office because obviously your actual home life with your wife isn’t up to par. Hell, your wife wouldn’t allow you to act the way you really ARE! Matter of fact — she’s probably bent over just like those Texas cheerleaders a few scrolls up on this thread — while you’re at the office; if she works — she’s bent over a desk of a superior taking and also LIKING it — that’s the only explanation of you coming on here and spewing your vomit. Hope your hard-on last more than 5 minutes “minute-man”.

    Oh BTW — we will continue to Rammer Jammer every team who loses to us —- FOREVER. If it makes you feel better — beat us and you won’t hear it.

    Envy = you.

    Study that equation you piece of shit!!!
