  1. The latest news in the football world is in.
Auburn looks to have sewed up the BCS Football National Championship (Moral Victory Division) a win (on near win) all but clinches the coveted Championship for the Plainsman.
According to an insder who prefers to be kept anonymous but will go by the initials PD, “This ‘uns gonna be tricky” if we beat those Northwesterners the MV voters may turn on us” But if we lose to a team that is usually a whippin’ boy that could go against us too, By the way ….where tha hell is Northwestern?”

*(Speaking from this reporter’s humble point of view. This game will probably be the only Bowl game where the universities cant be readily located on the map.”

  2. What the hell are Auburn and Northwestern doing playing on Jan 1st anyway? New Years day bowls used to mean something. They were reserved for the major conference champions the best of the best. Now Northwestern? Shit! What’s up with the Heisman? I thought today was just to select the 5 finalists? But all evening I’ve been seeing supposedly official vote tabulations and the positions of the finalsts. Isn’t the winner supposed to be a secret revealed at the ceremony in New York? Is the winner gonna slip out early like goddamn political election? What’s the deal? Anybody know?

  3. EG — An Outback Bowl representative was at the Iron Bowl and was apparently so impressed with barner faithful that Jay Jacobs swooned him into getting the bid.

Auburn University put up $3 million upfront and purchased 30,000 tickets to “seal the deal” with the Outback Bowl committee. Jay Jacobs assured them that the barner faithful are excited about “what is happening with the program” and that they would be willing to travel. That’s the reason why they are there in January.

Do they deserve a bowl game on New Year’s Day? Hell no. They deserve a bowl game somewhere in Louisiana or Tennessee. Just my opinion.

  4. Adding to that is the controversy is the Gator Bowl who took Florida State when they should of went to the Emerald Nut Bowl and/or Gaylord’s Music City Bowl. There was some kind of conflict with those Bowl’s too. It was the Bowden situation basically.

  5. KEVIN SCARBINSKY of THE BIRMINGHAM NEWS WASTED HIS VOTE!!! HE PUT ROLANDO MCCLAIN (a player who has no chance to win) OVER MARK INGRAM (WHO HAS A CHANCE TO WIN!) — THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! Granted Rolando is an EXCELLENT PLAYER but HE IS NOT ON THE HEISMAN RADAR — I AM CANCELING MY SUBSCRIPTION AND WILL PETITION OTHER CRIMSON TIDE FANS TO DO THE SAME —

THE BIRMINGHAM NEWS SUCKS ANYWAYS — THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! IF MARK INGRAM LOSES BY A FEW — YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK! INPUT IS NEEDED!

  6. Well with Scarbinsky and the 3 fags from Mississippi, we aren’t short on assholes in the deep south! Hopefully they have some assholes in other regions that do the same to Suh, McCoy and Gebhardt. Maybe Mark will pick up lots of votes from his native Mid-west and the East as they don’t have a horse in this race. RTR!

  7. Well — you have the problem with the entire West voting for Gerhart while the Midwest, South and East maybe split on McCoy and Ingram. Don’t be surprised if Gerhart wins it due to that!

If and when the information comes out on the voting numbers — if Ingram loses this by a margin — hell will be unleashed on the newspaper services because nothing can be done for the individual voters.

Always cut off the hand that feeds. If it means loss subscriptions and sales to the newspaper (and their senior editor will know about the petition), that hurts an already struggling service here in Birmingham. Again — I am outraged that a 1st place vote was wasted like that.

The “homer” system is here and here to stay — it’s not going anywhere — and they better get on board!

  8. Bammers beware! Over on the Texas sites the fans are considerably ticked off about some things McElroy reportedly said on ESPN. I haven’t watched tv since Saturday night, so I don’t know. But I know this much. The Texas Longhorns are not a team you want to fuck with. They don’t need to be given bulletin board material. If Mac is running his mouth, saying stupid stuff on national tv, Saban needs to put a muzzle on him, or we’re gonna be eating shit from our rivals and the wannabes again for another year. RTR!

  9. Reportedly he told ESPN that he was praying Texas would make the field goal and beat Nebraska because he wants to beat the Longhorns. Then he said, “I’ve hated Texas all my life”. That’s just plain stupid if he actually said it!

  10. Some of that is true — don’t remember him saying him hating Texas all his life. I did hear him say that he wanted to play against the team that he grew up idolizing — or something to that nature — doing research on this rainy day on this issue.
