AP: Florida: Meyer feeling better after hospital stay

Florida coach Urban Meyer has been released from a local hospital after being treated for dehydration.

Meyer was admitted early Sunday morning, but school spokesman Steve McClain says Meyer is feeling much better.

It was unclear what caused Meyer to go to Shands at the University of Florida and how long he spent at the hospital.

Meyer’s stay came hours after the top-ranked Gators lost 32-13 to No. 2 Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game. The loss snapped Florida’s 22-game winning streak and left the defending national champions headed to the Sugar Bowl to probably face unbeaten Cincinnati, Meyer’s alma mater.

Meyer is scheduled to be on a bowl teleconference later Sunday.

  1. Sourses say Tim Tebow amd Urban Meyer had to console each other on flight back to Gainsville. The flight had to make an emergency landing due to the electrical system in the plane shorting out because of so much moister during inflight. This occured after devasting loss to the the Alabama Crimson Tide…. After landing the plane was immediatly disembarked. Tears were then pumped out, and it will now sit in dry storage with the windows down and T-tops out for several days, before it will be cleared to fly once again…RTR

  2. Question: What do Florida and sandcastles have in common? Answer: They both disappear when the Tide rolls in! Post on the Texas Rivals board from a Longhorn fan: “During the SECCG Nick Saban was seen roaming the Bama sideline with the Spear Of Destiny in his hand”. The Harris and 5 computer polls aren’t reporting yet. But Sagarin has Florida 2nd with a huge lead over Texas. Could the unthinkable happen here? Think Baby Jesus would want another piece of Bama’s ass? Bwwaaa Haaww Haaww! RTR!

  3. His fear of the future has made him lose control of bodily fluids. If he can’t beat BAMA with Tebow, how can he ever win another SEC title? The Florida nation must now face the reality of what set in on Meyer’s stomach on the plane ride home. Florida was out coached and out played with the best they have to offer. The rebuild must begin. The reality of the situation sent Meyer seeking medical attention. What will the FL nation seek when they realize last night was the beginning of the end?

It sux to an aubarn tiger!

  4. The Gators lost because they did not have Carlos Dunlap; so don’t toot your horn too loud.

Typical classless Bammer Morons with the rammer-jammer cheer at the end of the game. I hope native Tennessean Mack Brown and the Longhorns stick the rammer-jammer hammer up Nicky Satan’s ass!
