AP: Alabama RB Mark Ingram says he will ‘most definitely’ play against Florida in SEC title game

Mark Ingram said his bruised hip is fine and he will “most definitely” be ready for the Southeastern Conference championship game against No. 1 Florida.

No. 2 Alabama’s tailback was injured in the fourth quarter against Auburn on Friday and played a limited role on the Crimson Tide’s final winning drive in a 26-21 win. Coach Nick Saban said the Heisman Trophy contender would practice Monday but might be held out of contact drills.

Ingram was held to 30 yards on 16 carries against the Tigers, easily his roughest outing of the season.

He said Auburn defenders made it hard for him to get any space by putting eight or nine defenders near the line of scrimmage.

Ingram had an extra day to rest after the game and says his “body feels great.”

  1. We could plainly see that they were putting 8 or 9 defenders near the line of scrimage. We could see that they were told to converge on him like stink on shit when he got the ball. That’s what makes it so Goddamn unbelievable that 99% of the plays we ran were pure fucking vanilla, and stubborn runs through the line as if the coaches were saying – we’re going to buck Ingram up the middle until we lose the game! Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead! Where was the Wildcat, the variations off the wildcat, where were our reverses, where was our fastest player Maze, where was the deep passing game? I swear to God it looked like we were trying to lose the game. If our O doesn’t show more variety, versitility and imagination than that this Saturday, Florida will hand our asses to us! RTR!

  2. Egg. ll tell you where…On there asses…You do know that you won the game right ? For Auburn to be as insignificant as you say they are, that “victory” sure is lingereing.
