AP: If you’re searching for the leading Heisman contender, take a look at Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram.

It was the sophomore who had the breakout performance this past weekend, running for 246 yards and the game-sealing touchdown in Alabama’s 20-6 victory against South Carolina.

“He really inspires the offensive line when we know we have a good back like him.” Tide tackle Drew Davis said.

Ingram ranks fourth in the nation in rushing at 129 yards per game and is averaging 6.7 per carry with 11 touchdowns. He has been the backbone of the offense for the No. 1 team in the nation and if he keeps it up he might become Alabama’s first Heisman Trophy winner. 1. Mark Ingram has begun to emerge from the midst of a team full of stars to become one the nations elite athletes. But we have to ask ourselves, do we really want him to win the Heisman? This brings to mind a famous book titled ‘A Yankee In King Arthur’s Court’, which would raise this question: Should he win the Heisman, do you think the State of Alabama is ready for ‘A Yankee In The Big Jim Folsom And George Wallace Governors Mansion’? Bwwaaa Haaww Haaww!!! On a more serious note, I would not want to see a Heisman contender left in the game to enhance his credentials at the expense of playing time for senior Roy Upchurce or even Trent Richardson. Roy has been plagued by injuries, but is just as good as Mark. In fact last year when neither Coffee or Ingram could move the ball, and this year to some extent also, Upchurch has come in and run all over the opposing defense. Alabama is a RB by commitee team, and Upchurch and Richardson have earned their game time reps. Be that as it may, INGRAM IS AWESOME! RTR!

  2. “Should he win the Heisman, do you think the State of Alabama is ready for ‘A Yankee In The Big Jim Folsom And George Wallace Governors Mansion”… Are you serious? That’s the most redneck comment I’ve seen on any blogs in a while!

  3. Did ya’ll catch that al,com article about Lance Thompson? And I quote: “I could have stayed with Nick Saban forever.” End quote. Give me an f-in break! First it was Lame and now it’s his sidekick Lancelot. This is pure unadulterated bullshit! There’s a phrase in Spanish that sums these two clowns up perfectly. ‘Ellos son mamones’! Literally it means ‘cocksuckers’. But more specifically to this situations it means to ‘kiss ass’, to ‘butter up’, or to ‘blow smoke up Bama’s ass’. UcheaT is scared shitless of Alabama and I love it. They’re also trying to get in our heads like they did Floridas. Only with us they’re acting sweet instead of nasty. Screwem! The bastards should of thought of that before Albert Means, among other transgressions. RTR!

  4. Bamafanandjr, I’ve never seen you on this board before, and don’t care if I see you on here again either! That post was written as a joke, and anyone who’s not an illiterate asshole would know it. So take your opinion and go f**k yourself!

  5. DOnt get me wrong I love to watch Ingram run. I know what I am about to say is messed up but I am OMNI! Mark Ingram is My second fav college football player behind Superman… But if McCoy doesnt mess it up Mark will have to have about 2 or 3 more 200 yrd games to TAKE it from Mccoy. The voting is about a lil more than On the Feild SHOW… McCoy is a really good boy as well as a loved QB so Ingram can keep it up and if he doesnt get it this year lets hope he has next year….

  6. Are you sick Omni? Should I call a doctor or what? That just doesn’t compute coming from you! RTR!

  7. E.G. if you go back and check you will see that I am first and Auburn Fan and Second a CFB fan. Ingram is as exciting to watch as Tebow was last year and Cadillac and Ronnie was in 04 and Jay Barker… I could go on and On Peyton, Percy,…. and so on 🙂
