T he big news for the Alabama Crimson Tide came Sunday when Alabama football coach Nick Saban announced Dont’a Hightower would require season-ending surgery.

“Dont’a Hightower’s MRI confirmed that he has ligament damage in his knee that will require surgery,” Saban said. “Dont’a is a fine young man, has been an outstanding player for us, and we are confident he will make a full recovery.”

Alabama plays Kentucky early Saturday on the SEC Network. The Tide’s prep includes practice this afternoon. Expect some discussion today with Saban about how the Tide adjusts to the loss of Hightower.
