Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban holds a press conference this afternoon (at least according to the schedule), and you can expect questions about the depth chart, roster and linebacker Courtney Upshaw’s arrest. But will anyone ask the big question?

Will swine flu mess with Alabama Crimson Tide football?

Saban won’t know the answer to that question, but he would know if the football team has taken any steps to minimize risk from the epidemic. That is a question I would ask.

According to the Birmingham News, Alabama and Auburn have both reported cases of influenza, and “most of them likely the swine flu.” The report says both schools have planned for this, but have the football teams? While handing out masks probably isn’t the answer, it would be informative about Saban to know if this is one of those little areas he likes to manage.

  1. I bet thats what happende to Upshaw. He had a case of the Swine Flu. He was delirious with fever and accidentally threw a beatdown on his woman.

  2. Or she had the flu, was delirious, and he had to defend himself, as HER FATHER told Gentry Estes of the Mobile Press Register today.
