By Shane from Centerpoint

Webster’s dictionary defines the word “gimmick” as a clever gadget, trick or idea. When University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban or Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer enters a “Five Star” athlete’s home to secure his promise to sign on the bottom line, gimmicks, gadgets and smack-talk aren’t part of either coach’s ever-expanding arsenal of recruiting tools. However, it appears that the man in charge of Auburn University’s football program, Gene Chizik, along with Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin, have decided that abnormal behavior and the use of props are the wave of the future. Between Kiffin’s infamous series of childish public outbursts and Chizik’s use of “pimp-mobiles” (decked-out with flags and cheap magnetic signs) to tour the state and promote his school, one would imagine that things are going to get strange watching these two clowns struggle to compete in recruiting against the top two coaches in the nation.

Actually, we could spend hours debating whether Nick Saban or Urban Meyer is the better recruiter, but I will say with conviction that they should be one and two on most everyone’s list. However, I’ll leave it to the experts to determine who is actually the best.

Although Saban and Meyer use very different styles, the end result of their efforts is always an outstanding group of talented athletes pouring in to play football for each of their respective universities. A-list players sign in droves, year after year. Interestingly, most of the process of how either coach wins recruiting battles for the services of these elite athletes is hidden from the public, because both coaches perform their magic on a very personal level – with the athlete and his parents being the only witnesses to what is truly recruiting “genius”.

Other the other hand, you’ve got the Tennessee “greenhorn” Kiffin, and Chizik, the former Iowa State Cyclones (5-19) head coach, operating from the section of the coaches handbook that Saban and Meyer never got – or maybe they didn’t want.

For example — a certain future-member in the college football “Hall of Fame”, Nick Saban, and the legendary University of Alabama football program simply do not need to parade around the state of Alabama in a (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) limousine in order to attract the attention of potential recruits. In fact, most of the young players in Alabama have grown up longing to wear the Crimson jersey and play for the Crimson Tide. A coach of Saban’s caliber wanting them to play for him is all that is necessary to seal the deal.

In turn, it makes absolutely no sense (and shows signs of desperation) for Auburn and Chizik to use stretch Hummers and Lincolns to create a media circus (another story for another day) to garner the attention of young men who might be offered a scholarship to play football for the Tigers in the future. What does a limo have to do with playing the game? Besides, I’ve yet to figure out what “real” message they were trying to send by using those “pimp-mobiles”, and I’m still not sure what type of young men they were targeting with all that “bling-bling” material. The whole thing just seemed strange – especially when you consider that Auburn is faced with recruiting against a relentless monster like Nick Saban.

Concerning Tennessee’s Lane, I don’t think a concert hall full of psychoanalysts could convince me that Kiffin really believes the embarrassing public-outburst that came out of his mouth about smacking Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators around in this year’s upcoming game. I mean, there’s being bold, and then there’s making a fool of yourself in front of the entire nation. Kiffin definitely accomplished the latter with his baseless rant. In fact, Lane has gone “clown” in front of a microphone several times, having to apologize and retract some of the stupid things he has said. He might want to focus on the fact that he is competing for players, wins and the eastern division against one of the best all-around coaches in the business, Urban Meyer.

Speaking of Meyer – he is absolutely the best young coach to appear on the college football scene in a long time. Just like Nick Saban – Meyer can do it all, and he is an exceptional recruiter.

When all is said and done, and with all jokes aside, I do realize that both Tennessee and Auburn must do something to stop the bleeding, but I do not think using “circus-like” gimmicks, nor threatening the Gators – who were going to totally destroy your Volunteers anyway – is going to create any type of recruiting advantage for Kiffin, and the limo is a useless tool for Chizik as well. Instead of making ESPN’s Sports Center by pulling bizarre stunts with mouth or props, these “rookie” SEC coaches should be preparing to match wits with two absolute professionals who dominate their craft (recruiting) and who’ve mastered every detail of the game.

  1. Shane……..Your about 5 days too late buddy…This ones already been run into the ground……..

The difference between Sabans and Chiziks recruiting practices…….Chizik puts his coaches in a climo to recruit.

The REC puts bama signees into chargers and escalades.

Shouldnt you be concerned about the NCAA spanking that butt here in the next few days ?

Oh yeah, act like it never happened and ,maybe it will go away. That seems to work real well for you . Oh never mind.

  2. For this to limo “subject” to be nothing more than a “gimmick” or “stunt” that you “bammers” swear you don’t “care” anyting “about” you sure are “writing” a lot of “articles” about it.

Hey cappy, if you saw racist connatations in a comment about being “straight from the streets of Miami”, what do you see in the use of the term “pimp-mobile”. Geez, who let David Duke start writing articles around here?

  3. LOL. pimp has entered the vernacular meaning cool. Accusing people of being thieves because they are from the streets of Miami hasn’t entered the vernacular—and last time I checked, nobody ever thought being called a thief was cool.

  4. Gee cappy, it sure didn’t sound like Shane was using the word to mean “cool”. He was referring to the limo negatively, not positively. He was implying that it was a thug mobile, not a “cool” mobile.

  5. Gadsden = the city that will give bama the death penalty……….Lets discuss that for about 5 articles.

  6. Was he saying that?

I don’t know. But we sure know what Auburn people are saying about Florida recruits—accusing anyone from Miami of being a thief.

BTW, I’m fairly tolerant, but if you are going to assert something went wrong in Gadsden—post freaking proof. I’m sick of all the lies spewing from Auburn message boards based on nothing but BS they heard from some other Auburn booster.

  7. Touchy cap…….I think I struck a nerve. Would a guy Id trust my life with seeing the dude in the car all the time be proof ? Just wondering.

  8. I really hate to break up the politically correct tip-toeing, but a few facts need to be addressed. The bammer coaching staff is made up of 7 white guys and 4 black guys. The Auburn coaching staff is made up of 5 white guys and 5 black guys. Certainly no apparent “racism” on that front, at least for Auburn. As for the “type of young men they were targeting with all that bling bling material,” that would be today’s high schoolers….black and white. At prom, the epitome of “cool” for many kids is to rent a limo for the night. Yes, it may seem cheezy to all of us, but at that age it works. The Auburn coaching staff, which is evenly broke down by race (a libs wet dream) showed incredible marketing skills with this latest move. The last time nicky thought outside the box like that, he was trying to think who to blame for the sugar bowl loss.
Shane, if you read this, please take my advice and join the Jackson/Sharpton movement. They are also very good at making everything a racial issue.

  9. I digress cap. You are right. Heresay is not admissable in court. Even the kid driving the car isnt enought. Even though the REC is way too smart for that. Im sure its nice and non- traceable. I guess that makes the bammer nation sleep better at night.

Again your right, rumors are insignificant . You have to have facts.

ut you know what they say. Where there is smoke , there must be fire.

    Or not.

  10. I’m not touchy. I’m just sick of the baseless crap spewed without accountability.

As for your friend seeing the player, that is a lot better than most people who are posting the rumors have seen. However, I’d caution people saying that to think of a couple of additional things—is this the player’s car? When I was in college, I drove several cars including my grandparents car one day when mine was in the shop. So, seeing someone in a car isn’t proof of anything.

Furthermore, I’ve seen expensive cars in all parts of Birmingham—even neighborhoods some consider depressed. You need some proof that this car was bought or funded by outsiders. Even if the player drove an expensive car, it isn’t ipso facto proof of cheating. Lots of people drive expensive cars.

And that is one reason I get so sick of this. Just like last year’s Escalade stuff. Did anything come from that? Lots of people “Saw” that too—and it turns out the guy drove a really old car.

  11. The same baseless crap…………….Kind of like the same baseless crap that your buddy Shane spewed about Chette Williams last year ? That kind of baseless crap ? Where were you last year when Shane had a boner for Bro. Chette ? Oh yeah……..You were going right along with him.

Spare me the holier than thou crap.I remember all the B.S yall were spewing. If you werent spewing it, you sure as heck werent taking up for him.

  12. Shane didn’t spread any baseless crap about Williams. Shane simply asked questions from a story printed in the NY Times. Rev. Williams was a coward and didn’t answer the newspaper or Shane. He wouldn’t go on the radio for about a year or two because he was afraid to address those issues.

I disagreed with much of Shane’s theories about Williams, but he had every right to ask those questions—questions raised by a legitimate newspaper. BTW, I wrote multiple posts defending Williams association with Auburn. Explaining that just because Shane had legitimate questions, it shouldn’t tarnish the good things Williams had done for Auburn.

If that NY Times story wasn’t true or accurate, Williams and Auburn would have sued, or at the least have come forward to address those questions.

They didn’t. That speaks volumes. See the difference? Shane’s questions came from a story published by a real source; these Internet rumors are coming from Auburn people pissed off they didn’t land that Gadsden recruit.

    I’m sick of it.

  13. Do you hear yourself ? Citing the NYT sounds good on paper. But you and I both know that the sociology thing was a crock. If there was something that could come from it , why did NOTHING come from it ? Sooooo appearantly Williams and Auburns stance of silence spoke enough volumes THAT NOTHING FREEKING HAPPENED. Are you seriously saying that your buddy Shane didnt spew any baseless crap ? He referred to Chette as the bagman a thousand times on Finebaum. A dozen slanderous blogs by him about Williams graced this website. Cap I know that you want to, but you cant have it both ways……….You say you defended Williams ? I read a couple of articles where you spoke of how good a job he was doing. Nothing more Never once did I hear you “defend ” him. Williams helped Nick Saban set up Bamas FCA deal. If he is so bad why did the mighty Nicktator go to HIM for advice ? Your buddy Shane should have had his ass sued off for slander.

And yes, its exactly like the Gadsden thing. Unproven Bullcrap….All Im trying to do is prove a point to you and your kind. The truth is good , when it is convenient for you. When its inconvenient, well it must be a lie.

Like I said before, shouldnt yall be concerned about the axe thats about to fall ?

You arent the only one thats been ‘sick of it”.

  14. The sociology thing was pretty damning. Just like the academic fraud that went on at Tennessee that ESPN reported. We all know the NY Times story was accurate—unlike the Gadsden shit, a faculty member came forward and put his name and reputation on the line. Has anyone done that regarding Gadsden? Why didn’t the NCAA do anything about Auburn? You’ll have to ask them.

I wrote this specific line about Williams: “Shane raises some interesting questions about the financial arrangements. But questions do not in themselves mean nefarious motives are at work. Could it be that these men connected with Auburn simply believe religious involvement would benefit the athletes? Especially, as many athletes come from backgrounds filled with temptation.”

I not only defended Williams, I defended everyone associated with Auburn in those lines.

Shane wasn’t sued for slander or libel because? I think we all know. He wasn’t sued because all I read from him were questions arising out of the NY Times story. Questions that remain unanswered. As for what he said on Finebaum, I don’t know. I listen to Finebaum about an hour or two a day (haven’t been able to for the last couple of weeks due to work.) I can assure you, if there were grounds, he would’ve been sued—since it seems to still aggravate people in the Auburn family.

  15. The “gimmick” surely isn’t helping in the head-to-head battle as Alabama has already landed FIVE prospects of which Aubarn also pursued.

Funny how proven winners such as Saban, Meyer, Miles, Richt, Nutt, and Petrino doesn’t need limos to make to make their school look better unlike that punchline of a program and school that punchline of a 5-19 coach currently works for.

How are you guys going to feel when you still fall VERY FAR BEHIND in SEC recruiting this year? Look at the bright side though, Vandy and Mississippi State will finish behind you at least!

And note to bamasux: bringing “color” into the mix isn’t going to change the fact that you racist morons failed to hire a WINNING coach simply because he was black. But I guess when Alabama and even a mediocre West Virginia team ANNIHILATES you into a pulp, it literally does knock you senseless, doesn’t it you racist Barnie?

I’m sure Coach Grant is bound to teach you that lesson next season.

  16. Shane for brains,
You say “… we could spend hours debating whether Nick Saban or Urban Meyer is the better recruiter…However, I’ll leave it to the experts to determine who is actually the best.” Well 4 out of 5 of the “recruiting experts” did determine that the best recruiter for 2008 was neither Nick Saban nor Urban Myer, but was in fact Les Miles! But that’s OK we all know how Alabama fans like you like to claim National Championships (what is it 12 now!LOL) when only one obscure media outlet or organization out of 4 or 5 claims Alabama national champs.

I guess in your mind there is somthing wrong when other teams coaches “…parade around the state of Alabama in a (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) limousine in order to attract the attention of potential recruits”, but don’t think that is so different than the little dictator of Alabama parading around in $3000 (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) ARMANI Suits.

So Shane, you just keep worrying about what Kiffin or Chizik is doing or not doing compared to little Satan and Les Miles and the LSU Tigers will keep signing number one recruiting classes (as determined by 4 out of 5 of your recruiting experts) right under your nose. That is unless Nick decides to play the system again and sign 32 players again like he did in 2007 to get that number one recruiting class when he knew at least a half dozen of those signees would never qualify for college. I don’t know who he has fooled more the national media or you.

  17. Written by TiderInsider – “And note to bamasux: bringing “color” into the mix isn’t going to change the fact that you racist morons failed to hire a WINNING coach simply because he was black.”

I read it but I still can’t beleive you are stupid enough to write that after Alabama failed to hire Sylvester Croom and instead hired Shula!!!! Make me laugh and tell me there was any reason Shula was hired over Croom besides race. And Croom was one of your own and one of “Bear’s boys”! You inbreds are two peas in a pod!

  18. Don’t forget the (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) $4 million salary (talk about bling bling) or the (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) 92,000 FREE admitted, only opportunity for most to see a bammer “game” spring game.

Tiderinsider….I didn’t insert “color” into the mix. That was Shane. He may not have come right out and said it, but that’s what he meant. I don’t answer to anybody, so I don’t have to tip toe around the issue in my response.

  19. The “gimmick” surely isn’t helping in the head-to-head battle as Alabama has already landed FIVE prospects of which Aubarn also pursued.
sorry but i went to rivals and only saw one recruit that comitted to yall. if auburn doesnt offer a scholly it doesnt count moron. also commits now dont mean squat. they dont sign till next year.
how do you know it hasnt helped most players and schools they visited loved it.

Don’t forget the (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) $4 million salary (talk about bling bling)
    _______________________

    Are you seriously that stupid?
As long as we are metioning “look at me!”
    money:
Let us not for get the PLEASE LOOK AT ME! $5 million dollars that Tommy tuberville made just for quiting.

  21. The dertermining factor to the the “GREAT LIMO RIDE OF 09”
how many commitments has it landed for Auburn so far?
If it is 0, I would have to call it a big waste of time.

  22. Reality check sez
“I guess in your mind there is somthing wrong when other teams coaches “…parade around the state of Alabama in a (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) limousine in order to attract the attention of potential recruits”, but don’t think that is so different than the little dictator of Alabama parading around in $3000 (PLEASE LOOK AT ME) ARMANI Suits.

    _______________________
So you are saying a Limo is much more appropriate to the game of football than a business suit?

  23. tmc1

You didn’t really bring up making money just for quiting did you?!

    Are YOU serioulsy that stupid?

How much did Nick Saban make from Miami for quiting his contract with LSU? And how much did the little Alabama dictator make from Alabama for QUITING the Miami Dolphins? And how much will make when he quits Alabama and goes to the next challange/higher bidder, especially considering Bama caved when he insisted on a no buyout clause in his bama contract?

  24. tmc1
Comparing a “business suit” to a $3000 Armani suit is like comparing a Ford Tarus to a limo. So to answer you stupid question, no I am not saying that. I am saying that the (Please look at me limo) is the same as the (Please look at ME $3000 ARMANI Suits and $1000 handmade Italian loafers with no socks)!

  25. Fellow Aubies….these bammers apparently flunked reading comprehension….their central tenet is that Auburn’s Tiger Prowl using limos was a preposterous publicity stunt. When you counter with $4 million dollar salaries, $3000 suits, and nonstop talk of a free admission spring game attendance (bama won!) as publicity stunts, their brains apparently do not comprehend the logic.
As for the $5 million severance package for Tommy, that was not an attempt at (PLEASE LOOK AT ME), that was (PLEASE GO AWAY). Different concept all together.

  26. The NCAA is gonna come down pretty soon. Probation…means probably a slap on the wrist, THIS TIME. However, Finescum usually is off by a little on his predictions about Alabama’s future. I predict a minor number of scolarships and possibly a slap on the wrist (meaning no problems with TV times and bowl games) due to the fact of the big billion dollar ESPN contract with the SEC. However, THIS TIME means that Big NCAA Brother will be watchiing and if they have to insinuate a rule such as “Saban rule” again because Napoleon is bending the rules again, the cuffs will go on the Bamer redneck wrists.

You keep talking about Auburn so bad, but last time I checked the major probation scandal was caused by your Tennessee faithful in Knoxville ala Philip Fulmer, who by the way is still working for the university with a lot more free time. I’d be really careful not to “bend” the rules anymore.

The Tiger Prowl was a way to catch media attention which it did and to let the high level recruits that AU is a valid choice come signing day. Both objectives were successful to the shagrin of the redneck nation. You dont have to belittle it. Just check out what the recruits say. Most liked it.

As far as kicking our “ass” in recruiting, you have done well the last two years, I agree. GOOD FOR YOU. However, Bama is not back. Dont fool yourselves into thinking that it has translated onto the field yet, because it hasnt. You got beat at the SEC Championship with your best O line and quarterback and stomped like a little girl when Andre Smith stepped off the field = no running game. JPW was back to himself throwing interceptions and generally showing bad sportsmanship, following in the footsteps of his little tyrant coach.

No SEC championship, no Bowl game victory, there was no riding off into the sunset. Just being kicked in the stomach and having to live with it. Hell, we had a shitty year but we arent fooling ourselves believing we are gonna go to the National championship this year either. We are a couple of years away from a bowl game and maybe a little longer to a national championship if everything works out.

But you know what, the SEC has a lot of great coaches and there really is more parity even among smaller schools, case in point Univ of South Florida who kicked our cans. But they have 45000 students, about 2 times Alabama or Auburn and a large alumni association who want to win.

Get used to being mediocre for the reasons stated above – NCAA investigation, more parity, O line sucks this year, and an untested Q-back. All these things matter to Shane about other teams, unless it is Alabama.

BLOW TIDE!! and wake up from the Saban Ruffinol in your drink, cause your butt must be sore.

  27. Watch out for Tennessee this year in recruits. So far this year they had the #1 and #2 running backs both 5 stars rated by Scout and Rivals (biased AL recruting site). By the way, they didnt pay Ed Orgeron to coach either. He is a recruiting nightmare to Nicky.

Eddie Gran – running backs coach (part of Tommys staff) with alot of connections to Florida (St Thomas Aquinas, Niles, Lauderdale, Miami city schools), Ed Orgeron (mississippi, california, arkansas connections), Lane Kiffin (california, oregon, nevada connections), Monty Kiffin (connections from NFL coach at the Dolphins), and oh yes Kevin Steele (of course he cant recruit since he isnt with Nicky anymore). These guys are a hard force to stop in recruiting and have more of a team approach to coaching rather than a dictatorship, much like AU.

This kind of coaching and recruiting is very difficult to stop. We will see who has the best recruiting this year, AL, UF, TN, and AU will all do well, but make fun of me now, but dont cry tomorrow if you note that (I predict this first):

TN and AU will out-recruit Alabama this year (2009-10). Make a note of it now, you heard if from here first.

Shane from Mecca town of Centerpoint, I am sure will disagree. We will see.

  28. YO! Just reminiscing a bit…some of the stuff that has been posted here reminds me of WHY during my HS & College years I NEVER rooted for Auburn! I’ve GROWN UP since then and I’ve found myself actually wanting them to win a few games over the years, but some of this crap I’ve just read proves what I’ve thought about the Barnies over the years and I can sum it up with one word: JEALOUSY. All you Aubies KNOW that A CRIMSON TSUNAMI is coming. I’m not going to say when its going to happen, but I see how “THE PROCESS” is progressing. Y’all see it, too. Y’all don’t like it. If I was in the boat with you, I’d have on a LIFE JACKET too! Keep up the rant, guys! I really enjoy it! CRIMSON TSUNAMI, BABY! WATCH OUT! Later.

  29. Ballplay, you should start an Auburn blog where you and Julio can talk about the REC buying cars for players and salivate over Bama being on probation. But no, you guys would rather be here and get mad if anyone makes fun of Auburns awesome limo recruiting. Ya’ll need to grow a sack and quit acting like a bunch of little girls. You do realize that most of the people here that write articles and comment really don’t like Auburn very much anyway. Yet here you are, everyday, same old gripes and complaints about any pro-Bama or anti-Auburn slant. So, Shane, Cappy, ITK, ya’ll keep up the good work. Ya’ll must be doing something right if you guys keep digging at these Auburn people here. They sure do come back for more.

  30. DAMN,

I ll sat it again, This is is like Phil Spector!!! OLD AND IRRELEVENT! Damn Shane you even had time to Change your Story I am sure but once again like that FAT ikid on the block you eant to YELL LOUDER and say it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Oh yea and CHEEZY is that DRUNK BLONDE REACHING DOWN AND KISSING SABAN when he got off YOUR JET!!!

    bamma publicity STUNT!!!! want more?

  32. 1) Alabama is a more relevant school and program.

    2) Aubarn (AL) is the ugly little redheaded stepsister of the state who’s forced to operate under the dark, unbearable shadow cast upon them by Alabama.

    3) Alabama has a 10-billion times better nightlife.

    4) Aubarn (AL) has rodeos where more students attend than they do football games.

    5) Alabama has Nick Saban.

    6) Aubarn (AL) has Mr. 5-19 (are you fucking SERIOUS?).

    7) Alabama has no on-campus cow pastures, trailer parks, barns, and bovine research centers.

    8) Aubarn (AL) evolves around Alabama.

    9) Alabama evolves around legacy, tradition, and national attention.

    10) Gene Chizik again.

    11) Aubarn has fraternity parties where they dress up like KKK members; refer to blacks as the “N” word (see Eric Ramsey video); refuses to hire a black coach; and at one of the three bars in the town, they deny acceptance to blacks.

    12) Aubarn (AL) is in the middle of nowhere Lee County and the entire town is the size of my pinky finger.

    13) Alabama’s athletic facilities are among the nation’s elite and the campus was voted the most beautiful campus in the SEC.

    14) Alabama’s fans are more passionate and die-hard.

    15) Aubarn (AL) fans aren’t as passionate because they’re too worried about what big brother, Alabama is doing.

Case in point: why would Alabama need rental limos covered in $5 magnets to make their school look better?

  34. Boy I can’t WAIT for signing day to approach! It’s going to be hilarious hearing the excuses for why Alabama signed another top five class and the barn finished just ahead of only Mississippi State and Vanderbilt!

Hopefully you guys man up and take your ass-kickings like men, unlike the way you done after Alabama flatlined you 36-0!

  35. Hey BamaHate, do you remember the fourth quarter of the Iron Bowl? Do you remember when Alabama’s ENTIRE second-string out performed (and outscored) your first?

I surely hope you don’t believe the shit you spew, because your team is flat out BAD! You guys don’t have any worthy talent and my god YOU GUYS GOT BEAT BY VANDERBILT AND WEST VIRGINIA (and barely defeated Mississippi State). In addition your defense is depleted and be even more of a joke than your offense this year.

I don’t know what kind of miracle grow you’re smoking, but my friend, with a 5-19 coach at the helm of your program, a quarterback who’s quite possibly the WORST in the league , and the fact that your recruiting has been mediocre the past few years, I wish you all the best when you go 3-9 this year.

You have a mighty big mouth for a guy who’s program has been on the decline since 2007 and is showing NO SIGNS of improvement, compared to a team that went 12-2, posted 2 number 1 recruiting classes, and is led by a coach that is waaaayyyy out of your league. If you seriously believe the delusional garbage that you spew, then you’ll be in a world of hurt when reality strikes and Alabama blows you out on the field and on the recruiting trail (as we’re ALREADY doing).

But there’s no point for me to rub it in considering you won’t be here during the season, just as you weren’t last year after you guys swore on your mothers grave Alabama would go 5-7 and Aubarn would win the west. I can’t wait to hear your excuses and I can already think of one: “It was a transitional year.”

In fact, go ahead and let the excuses begin flowing, oh envious stepsister…

  36. 36-0…..more than half of your list explained why Auburn is better??? I’m confused. And the word is “revolves” not “evolves”, dipshit. Add one more to your list…..At Auburn, you get a first class education.

  37. ANd FUK we would not have posted it TWICE!! You sissy ass fag! And that racist Shit maybe you need to read what whent in at uat last week with the KAPPAS!
and that Damn Coach for Buffalo went 7 and 17 his first 2 years and LUCKED UP INTO A HAILMARY WAC Championship once again a WAC with a 7 win season. SO he was no more qualified than CHizik!!

    14) Alabama’s fans are more passionate and die-hard.

    “ALCOHOL INDUCED PASSION DOESNT COUNT!!”

    15) Aubarn (AL) fans aren’t as passionate because they’re too worried about what big brother, Alabama is doing.

“AND I KNOW 8 or 10 WHO WOULD SMACK YOU SISSY ASS IN THE MOUTH FOR THAT REMARK!
    thats passion huh?”

go BACK AND LOOK AT THE GREAT SABANS ENTIRE RECORD! Stupid ASS juice junkie!

  38. You better be glad AUburn has a Bovine School… You fat girl chasing drunk bammers would get HOOF and MOUTH Disease otherwise!

  39. Well cap…….been gone a while , but, as far as you defending Shanes journalistic prowess………….Thats a friggin joke. “He only raised and reitorated questions made by the New York Times “……..Yeah, right. That dude had a boner for getting Auburn in trouble. It never happened because NOTHING happened. Thats all there is to it. Bama on the other hand…………No one even talks about crap you guys get busted for until the University Pres. has a press conference. Then all the Crimson necks are like WTH…….. Id hate to know whats really going on with your recuiting. Heck man, If someone shined a light on your cockroach factory there is no telling what they would see running for cover.

  40. Ballplay is jealous of Bama’s recruiting. Surely it couldn’t be that Saban is an elite recruiting machine. No, it is much easier to defend Auburn by saying Bama is cheating. And you say you guys don’t make excuses. But, I will tell you what – if Bama is paying players to come there, you can bet Auburn is doing the same. You are a fool if you think otherwise. Auburn has been caught more, and ya’ll uphold the crooked drunk SOB that got caught doing it last time. Truth is, that has been the only way you guys have ever done anything notable. It seems like every period of Auburn success follows with probation. This garbage that Auburn is doing it right and Bama is doing it wrong is what is wrong with you Auburn people. You guys actually believe the crap you spew.

  41. NCAA is coming to the mullet nation AGAIN via Gadsden… I can’t wait to hear the Shane boy spin it… Shane is right Sabear performs magic with the recruits and parents…$$$$$$$$$$$

  42. I feel that the most ridiculous statement in the whole article is that Meyer and Saban are the top 2 coaches. Meyer….of course. But Nicky over Carroll? Meyer and Carroll dont lose to La Monroe! Granted, Saban has won a NC but to thrust him to the top 2 is flat our ignorant.

  43. Yeah Brando……..Bama has neeever been caught cheating , right ……..Not recently or anything ……They are squeaky clean……

Im not saying that Nick is paying anybody. Hes not that stupid. I dont really believe he would if he knew he wouldnt get caught.

You guys have some majorly out of control boosters. As bad or worse than anyone in the country. Thats what will get you. Not anything Saban does.

  44. Brandii, you say Auburn is pathetic for upholding Dye despite the fact that AU got caught cheating on his watch?? Hell, at least AU forced him out after the NCAA came knocking. How many more years did Stallings coach at Bama AFTER the NCAA hammered Bama and he had his face posted on the cover of Sports Illustrated under the headline “BAMA BUSTED”?

  45. Well I’ll have to say that Shane may have just done something that could get him fired. Oh wait! He just was. My bad. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer POS.

  46. Shane: Are you kin to Kiffin or Cheezznik???? You think and act like they do !!! So glad you got fired. Reminds me there is a God !!!!
    ROLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE!!!!!

  47. Once again, completely consumed by what Auburn is doing, while your kicker is getting kicked in that sleeze town called Tuscaloosa.
I heard the fish wrapper wised up and canned your ignorant arse….

  48. Hey 36-0 and “Free Parking”…..add this one to your list…….In Auburn, you don’t get beat up walking down the street.
Again, I’ll take the hay fields any day over your “thug life” hood of a town.

  49. What do we have to do to get Shane banned form this stupid blog???? We know Shane is a fag. How about 10% off the price of his next vasaline purchase for a start!!!!! It would help him the next time he spreads for Finebaum.

  50. It is that time of the year, it has started to warm up and when occasions are round the corner. It is time to turn your heads for break and celebrate for a party.

  51. Julio, that is how stupid you are. Bama got in trouble under DuBose, not Stallings. The Antonio Langham incident was appealed and overturned. And nobody had a tape recorder with recordings of Stallings talking about getting money to players. There is a big difference there. Like Ballplay said, it was the Boosters causing the problems for Bama. At Auburn it is the head coach. Bama has the booster situation under control, as much as you guys want to believe that it is not the case. But a head coach arranging paying players is worse than a booster doing it.
