The Tuscaloosa News reported at 5:38 p.m. that the University of Alabama and VCU coach Anthony Grant had additional discussions today (Friday), and a decision is expected soon.

The salary figure should be lower than expected, according to the report. “Speculation on Alabama’s offer has ranged as high as $2.4 million per year, but sources said the final package is unlikely to exceed $2 million per year. However, upgrading of current basketball facilities has been a part of discussions between Grant and UA athletic officials,” Cecil Hurt wrote in the Tuscaloosa News.
