TotalUGA.com reported Georgia had met with and offered VCU coach Anthony Grant its basketball job; however, the university disputes the report. According to TotalUGA.com, “Georgia sports information director Claude Felton said Monday morning that neither Georgia President Michael Adams nor Athletics Director Damon Evans met with Virginia Commonwealth coach Anthony Grant over the weekend.” Georgia also disputed offering the job to Grant.

Bidding war over Grant?
TotalUGA.com’s report raised the possibility that the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs could be in a bidding war to land the services of the VCU coach. The report indicated both schools had offered Grant.

  1. Well it wouldn’t be the first time the BAMA administration has done something stupid. Getting into a bidding war with Georgia over the first coach available when there are better ones on the horizon is just assinine. His dream job is at Florida. If Donovan bolts next year, so will Grant!
