Four-star defensive prospect Ed Stinson committed to Alabama Friday. Stinson told the recruiting services (Rivals and ESPN). He projects to the Jack linebacker at Alabama, Rivals reported.

Stinson holds a grade of 80 from ESPN. According to ESPN evaluation, “Stinson is a tall wiry prospect who seems to shine as a pass rusher. He has a tall lean frame and looks on film to have a good wing span. He should be able to get into a college weight program and add good bulk and continue to fill out.”

Staying in shape (and presumably) adding weight is something already on Stinson’s mind, “”I’m going to be getting ready for next year. I want to get stronger and stay in shape. I don’t want to fall behind when I get there and the competition is going to be good. I like that I will be pushed by the other players,” Stinson told Rivals.

Stinson is 6’4″ and 235 lbs. with a 4.7 40 and Scout rates him a three-star. His pass rushing skills are highly coveted by the Crimson Tide as it was seen as a deficiency on last year’s defense.

  1. Boy i tell you what things really look awesome in tide town.Look foward to another great season and hell to be very frank with you .,looks like for years to come. ROLLLLLLTIDEEEEEEEEE

  2. I just watched film of Stinson on YouTube. He may be my favorite commit yet. He’s tall, fast and covers ground incredibly quick for a guy his size. Seems to have good technique too (not just one move). This is a big pick up for us.
