Is this Andre Smith’s last game?
“I really don’t know,” Smith said to the press on Thursday. “I’m focused on Utah. That is my only train of thought right now.”

However, Smith has filed paperwork with the NFL’s draft advisory board, according to media reports. The committee provides feedback on how the player could be expected to do in the draft.

Consensus estimates place Smith among the top draft prospects. Speculation has indicated Smith would skip his senior season and turn pro; however, nothing official has been said.

Injury update
Roy Upchurch will not be available for the Sugar Bowl due to recovery from surgery. Upchurch underwent surgery to correct a neck injury. Barrett Jones lingering shoulder injury was also repaired during the break. Saban said it was corrected now in hopes Jones could be ready for spring practice.

Pleased with academic results
Alabama players came through finals with mostly good results, Nick Saban said Thursday. There are no academic casualties, he said.

“Pretty pleased, and proud of the results our players got,” Saban said.
