Terrence Cody was out of the black no-contact jersey in practice today, according to the Rap Sheet. Cody missed the last two games with a sprained MCL.

“From an injury standpoint, Terrence will start working today,” Saban said at his Monday press conference. “We don’t really have a lot of other injuries. We have some nicked up guys, but everybody should be ready to go tomorrow for sure. We will just have to be day-to-day with Terrence, in terms of how he progresses. He has worked hard. He has rehabbed very well. He has stability. Now, we just need to see how he functions out there playing football and like I said it will have to be a day-to-day thing, in terms of how we bring him back.”

Ingram named SEC freshman of the week
Here’s the release on Ingram earning SEC honors:
Freshman running back Mark Ingram was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week following the Crimson Tide’s 35-0 win over Arkansas State this past Saturday in Tuscaloosa , the league office announced today.

Ingram recorded his first collegiate 100-yard rushing game and finished with a game-high 12 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns. The two rushing touchdowns also matched his season high, previously set against Western Kentucky on Sept. 13. His scores were from five and 17-yards on Alabama ’s final two scoring drives of the game.

For the season, he has 94 rushing attempts for 533 yards and an Alabama freshman record eight rushing touchdowns. He is second on the team and seventh in the SEC with 59.2 rushing yards per game in 2008.

In addition to the weekly player of the week winners, the SEC Office also recognizes other top performances and Alabama senior safety Rashad Johnson was one of the honorable mention honorees. The Sulligent, Ala., native tied his career high with 13 tackles in the win over Arkansas State and added 2 ½ tackles for loss, a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown and one pass break-up.
