Here’s a press release that found its way into my inbox. I thought I’d share for anyone interested.

Regions Charity Classic 2008

BIRMINGHAM (Vocus/PRWEB) — The Regions Charity Classic presented by Bruno’s Supermarkets will host the Coaches Charity Challenge by Wyndham Vacation Ownership which will take place during the Charter Telephone Pro-am. This year’s Coaches Charity Challenge has expanded from last year and will feature nine football and basketball coaches competing to determine the “best golfer” and for a share of $23,500 to be donated to each participant’s charity of choice.

“The Coaches Charity Challenge by Wyndham Vacation Ownership has grown tremendously since our inaugural outing in 2007, and we are pleased that so many have taken the time to become personally involved,” said Franz Hanning, president and CEO of Wyndham Vacation Ownership. “It is an honor to partner with such high-caliber coaches in order to give back to the charities which we all feel so strongly about.”

The Charter Telephone Pro-am’s will take place on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15 during tournament week at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Ross Bridge. One Champions Tour professional is paired with four amateurs in a best ball format.

  1. Cool… real cool. Coach Saban would have probably been the only one working that day, but the NCAA stymied that. I am happy that they did find something worthwhile to do with the day..

  2. To Bobby Lowder….For your eyes and ears only.

    Dear Bobby,
I have been keeping an eye on “Dumbo” (how do you like that code name?) as you requested and I can inform you that he is even lazier than you feared. Most days he just sits in his office, scratching his n*ts and watching reruns of Jerry Springer. Thank God you have me here to keep the ship sailing in the right direction. And thank God you are there behind the scenes calling the shots.
I also really liked the new plays you came up with…They were ingenius Sir!
I especially liked “43 crush chop” Who would have thought you could chop block and entire team on one play!.
I also like the 4rth and 1 misdirection play too!!! It never occured to me that you could page the opposing defense that their car was being towed on 4th down and Shazam! Delay of Game! 1st down!
Thats the reason you are the rich and powerful monument to manhood you are Mr. Lowder!
You and I know I am a team player and 100% loyal, and I would never throw anyone under the bus for my personal gain. But…. its time to throw Tommy T under the bus,,, And give me his job and salary..You didnt hear this from me, But I hear Tommy T has been talking to Notre Dame. Yeah.. thats right … and he said you have bad breathe…He also mumbled something about snipe hunting in South Bend……

  3. Saban’s such an egomaniac that he can’t even donate to an established charity like St. Jude’s or Children’s Hospital. It’s all about him, all the time.
