Saturday was a beautiful day for football, and Iglass Photo shared some of his outstanding shots with us. You can view them by clicking here. Here’s a sample of his amazing work. We’ll also be posting some photographs later from Hunter Ford. He promised to send some along for everyone’s enjoyment. So check our photo gallery often.

As promised here’s a great A-Day photograph by D. Brown of Iglassphoto.com:

What they are saying about A-Day

All in all, it was an OK day. Some good, some bad, and 78,000+ on hand to view it. We need some defensive depth for sure, and some sticky fingers for our receivers. Now all that is left to do is have one final practice, and start our long wait for fall practice to start.— Tide Druid

The offense under coordinator Jim McElwain was shown to be a little different than that of Major Applewhite. Quarterback John Parker Wilson settled on safe, short passes, and he benefited from it. He looked more like a Tennessee quarterback under OC David Cutcliffe, which is good news. Or, he looked like he did against Tennessee last year, actually. —The Rap Sheet

Saban noted later that he made sure to watch the eyes of his younger defensive players.
The explanation was pretty interesting …

”It’s a little too personal to me to share with you the look in their eye, but some of them had a good look and some of them didn’t have a good look,” Saban said.

On defense, can we get some pressure on the QB, specifically from the DT position?

I think we found the answer to this question in Alfred McCullough.  McCullough was everywhere on the field, breaking up passes, getting to the QB.  This guy can easily take the starting spot from Bobby Greenwood judging from A-day.  McCullough had 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 pass breakups.  On the other side Greenwood had 2 tackles… that’s it. —Bama Nation

And since the spring game is behind us, it is never too early to make a prediction about the coming season:
This brings Alabama’s mark to 8-4 in the regular season, two losses better than Saban’s first year. It’s a tricky schedule, to say the least, and while there is a little wiggle room in terms of the record being better, there is probably more downside in terms of it being worse. As always, injuries will loom large. However, with a senior quarterback and more time for the Saban magic to work, things should be looking up for the Tide in 2008. —Paul Finebaum on al.com
