The single most important lesson from this Super Bowl is the lesson everyone should already know—defense is the key to winning. Period.

Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks and is leading one of the greatest offenses of all-time. But the Giants dominated the line of scrimmage, and were constantly pressuring Brady. If you pressure the quarterback they make mistakes, or cannot effectively run the offense.
The inability to establish the run was another major disaster for the Patriots.
The more things change, the more things stay the same.
Running, blocking and tackling.
Do those things and you’ll win championships.
Now excuse me while I go throw up after watching another Manning celebrate a Super Bowl crown.

Regardless it’s evident that New England is still the best team in pro football to date. Period.
I think New England is a dynasty with what they have accomplished this decade. But I’m not willing to say they are the best pro team ever.
If they return to the Super Bowl next year, and win it. That would say a lot about the team.
Of course, no chance at an undefeated regular season in 2008. I think that is the most disappointing part of the loss. I was looking forward to hearing someone knock the 1972 Dolphins off their imaginary throne. I would say it is exponentially more difficult to win 19 games in a row compared to 17.
And the NFL is talking about adding yet another regular season game.
