Mack Brown made great moves following a disappointing second loss to Texas A&M. He improved his defense byhiring Will Muschamp, and if reports are accurate has hired a very strong recruiter in Major Applewhite.
The odd thing about this is why didn’t Applewhite push for a head coaching position when his name was very hot in regards to a couple of positions. That would make a lot of sense. But returning to Texas where Applewhite is very popular would get him away from fans who call in the middle of the night to complain about play calling.
Oh wait, it is Texas. Another pressure cooker. However, not being a coordinator should help reduce the level of stress, and attention if Applewhite makes the move.
What will be the impact on Alabama’s recruiting? University of Alabama junior offensive lineman Antoine Caldwell announced today that he will return to the Crimson Tide football team for his senior season. Caldwell, who has already earned his undergraduate degree, made the announcement at a press conference at the Naylor Stone Media Suite on the UA campus, WIAT in Birmingham reported.
