..in the recruiting rankings.

Georgia standout receiver Chris Jackson committed to Alabama Tuesday morning. The former Georgia Tech commitment reversed to Alabama following the coaching turmoil in Atlanta. Jackson has impressive numbers. He’s rated a four-star by Scout.com and a three-star by Rivals.com

Moreover, Jackson graduates high school this month, and will enroll in college in January—meaning he will not count against the 25 scholarship limit for 2008. A very helpful gain.

For reference, the recruiting rankings are now more in agreement that earlier this year. Scout.com and Rivals.com both have Alabama sitting with the #3 recruiting class in the nation behind Georgia and Notre Dame.

For reference, Auburn is ranked 15 by Rivals.com and 26 by Scout.com.

But I hear Auburn recruiting is about to “get hot.” I guess we all had to wait on the dead period, coach Tuberville to finish his hunting trips and shopping trips to New York City, and the hiring of an offensive coordinator knee-deep in the Kentucky rules breaking scandal for it to improve.

BTW, good luck with that!
