Don't know, Hack. I live in SC now and I think the relations here are better than what I remember 10 years ago at Bama. True though, I did not attend SC. Heck I walked into an alumni meeting and got a real cold shoulder from all except the president. Here's to hoping the change comes sooner than later. I really don't want my daughter to have to deal with it when she goes to Bama. Roll Tide!

Ric – yeah, I agree that can be a problem. But as a South Carolina alum, it's pretty bad there, and there are probably some things that will hamper Southern schools until more enlightened generations grow older and pass on better attitudes to their children.

Also, I have to agree with crimsNkentucky. I've always been very cordial with fans of opposing teams, unless they're being purposefully caustic. I've had issues with Tennessee and Auburn fans, but when they're being nice (like the Auburn fans I met at the Carolina-Auburn game last season), it's really enjoyable to talk with fans that are just as passionate about their team but can exihibit some basic Southern hospitality.

[...] Oh, yeah, and the Crimson & White Roundtable is up. The topic is what we want the unititiated to know about the Tide fanbase. I wax poetic about how we’re all family. Cue Sister Sledge. [...]

I'm glad that some of you see Tide fans as brothers. As a black man, it seems VERY FEW consider me as a part of the brotherhood. And then if they see me with a Bama shirt on, they think I was a player. When I say no that I have my Masters in Engineering from the Capstone, the conversation is over. Now I love the Tide and am PROUD to be a fan and from Alabama, but I really wish some of our fans could move to the 21st century with the rest of us.
