The scrimmage today marks the halfway point for Alabama’s spring practice. The scrimmage should help the coaching staff determine the depth chart heading into the A-Day game on April 21. The team went through a two-hour practice session Thursday getting ready for the scrimmage. The practice was in helmets and pads. Saban did not speak to the media following the Thursday practice session.

19 Birmimgham area schools were hit with fines and probation by the AHSAA, according to the Birmingham News. Hoover, Mortimer-Jordan, Leeds, Gardendale, Shades Valley, Clay-Chalkville, Erwin, Hayes, Jackson-Olin, Parker, Wenonah, West End, Corner, Victory Christian, Ashville, Ragland, Calera, McAdory and Fairfield were the Birmingham area schools on the probation list. I’m not shocked at Ashville getting hit with a fine, that is par for the course for that organization; however, it is shocking to see other St. Clair County schools, Victory Christian and Ragland, also on the list. For a smaller county, that is a lot of bad conduct.
Colin Cowherd apparently engineered a denial of service attack on a blog which was critical of the ESPN hack. Someone who works in the media should have greater respect for all forms of media, even forms critical of a “superstar” like Cowherd. There is no question Cowherd should be disciplined for his irresponsible behavior. Of course, I’m not holding my breath waiting on ESPN to do the right thing. That network is as corrupt and irresponsible as Cowherd.
