Brad Smelley, a junior at Alabama Christian Academy, was offered a scholarship, according to the Tuscaloosa News. Smelley has played many positions during his high school career including QB last season. In his first season as QB, he went 183 of 264 for 2,611 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also netted 320 yards and five touchdowns rushing.
“Coach Saban said he was going to offer me as an athlete,” Brad Smelley said to the Tuscaloosa News. “He didn’t know exactly where I was going to play, but they were going to go ahead and recruit me as an athlete. It could tight end, H-back, whatever I feel comfortable with.

Spring Practice Previews
With the first of 15 practices set to begin Saturday, everyone is wondering what to expect. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Tentative spring practice dates are Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, March 30, March 31, April 3, April 5, April 6, April 10, April 11, April 13, April 14, April 17, April 19 and April 21. The A-Day Game is scheduled for April 21 at 1:05 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
